Latgale: A Journey to Remember

An essential annual tradition is the participation of the Latgale Tourism Association and all regional Tourism Centers in the international tourism exhibition “Balttour.” This year, Latgale’s tourism professionals have prepared new tourism materials, exciting offers, and delicious tastings.

The Latgale region traditionally participates in the international exhibition “Balttour” as a unified destination – representing 9 cities and districts, including two state cities, Rēzekne and Daugavpils, as well as seven districts: Balvi, Rēzekne, Ludza, Preiļi, Līvāni, Krāslava, and Augšdaugava.

This year, Latgale’s tourism professionals have created fresh tourism materials, enticing offers, and flavorful tastings. Alongside a wide array of tourism options – diverse destinations, activities, opportunities to savor Latgale’s culinary heritage, craftsmanship, historical stories, and themed events – visitors will also have the chance to taste a modern strong alcoholic beverage from “Kazanova Moonshine.” As the creators of the drink explain: “We combined traditions and technology into one whole. With dedication and scientific innovations, we collect berries, apples, nuts, herbs, and honey from our estates and transform them into high-quality and delicious drinks.” Exhibition visitors will have the opportunity to try 13 different types of drinks.

Meanwhile, “Organic Products” will offer the chance to taste high-quality products crafted with utmost care, following the “Farm-to-Table” principle. Visitors will be able to sample herb blends, berry and vegetable powders, and a variety of teas.
