GreenFilmTourism project


GreenFilmTourism project is an initiative focused on promotion and sustainable development of the film heritage of the Polish-Slovak border area.

Our goal is to support development of the film tourism and the sustainable use of the cultural and natural heritage of the Polish-Slovak borderland.

With tourists and residents, representatives of the administration sector, businesses and social organizations dealing with tourism, cultural and natural heritage and representatives of film industry in mind, we have created and developed as part of the project:

  • the online knowledge portal with databases on Polish and Slovak film heritage: www.greenfilmtourism.eu
  • the cross-border film heritage trail taking into account interesting places and film inspirations presented using a digital map: mapa.greenfilmtourism.eu/pl/
  • the in-depth analyses and reports on the natural and cultural heritage and tourist attractions located along the Polish-Slovak cross-border film heritage trail
  • an educational and information campaign including among others such actions as: organizing seminars, industry meetings, study visits for film industry teams, tour operators, media and bloggers, running the social media campaign, creating a board game linked to the Polish-Slovak cross-border film heritage trail
  • a pro-ecological recommendations and linked events for audiovisual industry representatives to support them in more sustainable planning, production and post-production of films and TV series (green guideline and cross-border evaluation system for audiovisual industry representatives and their supply chain, organization of workshops oriented on sustainability in film and TV sector).

To make this happen the following partners from Poland and Slovakia has joined forces, competences and knowledge:

  • Rzeszow Regional Development Agency (PL)
  • Podkarpackie Film Commission at the Provincial Culture Centre in Rzeszów (PL)
  • Innovative Partnership Center in Prešov (SK)
  • SOKÓŁ Małopolska Culture Center in Nowy Sącz (PL)

The Green Film Tourism project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg V-A Poland-Slovakia Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020.
